Ambition, frustration or happiness?

Today I have started reading a very interesting book: “Art of Freedom. The Life and Climbs of Voytek Kurtyka” By Bernadette McDonald [1]. Freedom and mountain climbing may seem such a cliché, but the very beginning of this book has struck me, that this one might be different – in the first chapter they speak about freedom from the need judgment of judgment, and in particular from the need of admiration by other people.

Mind over Mood.

My 90 years old grandmother cried occasionally, when she had remembered the war times or situations when some family member had treated her badly. On the other hand, I cannot help laughing when I remember how me and my best friend at the age of 18 went on holidays to the Lake Solina and what adventures we had that summer. Every single one of us has experienced having memories more than once – they sometimes came with tears or anger, or laugh. Why do we laugh or cry, although nothing is really happening to us, now when we are thinking about it?

Do you believe emotion can kill? I guess many people answer ‘yes” to this question. However the good news is “NO, EMOTIONS CANNOT KILL”. The fact that you feel something doesn’t mean that this very emotion alone, can do you harm. However believing so, we concentrate on doing anything we can not to confront the unpleasant emotions.
